This historic site was once the bustling center of activity for several copper mines. Visiting and learning how the Kennecott Mining Corporation extracted valuable copper from the rugged Alaskan mountains is interesting.

I was struck by the beautiful color of the buildings. I learned that red paint was the least expensive color available at the time.
